CVS halts U.K. deals amid regulatory probe

Veterinary services provider CVS has halted U.K. acquisitions amid a Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) investigation into the sector. The company has also delayed its full-year results until October to allow shareholders to have "more visibility" and details of the probe. The CMA's most recent update on the matter said customers had a limited choice of services and highlighted that the price of vet services has risen faster than inflation. It also flagged that "there appears to be limited information available to pet owners about price, options available, quality of services and (in some cases) ownership of vet businesses."
