U.K. regulator's vet panel under scrutiny over bias fears

The U.K.'s Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) is conducting a full market investigation into the £5bn ($6.6bn) veterinary services industry, amid concerns that pet owners may be overpaying for medicines. However, the newly formed six-person veterinary advisory panel includes members with pro-independent practice views, raising questions about potential bias. The CMA has not commented on the selection process for the panel, but a spokeswoman stressed that members were chosen for their clinical expertise, not business model opinions.
