PETA drops lawsuit against Idaho ostrich farm

PETA has dismissed its lawsuit against American Ostrich Farms in Kuna, Idaho, after the farm retracted claims regarding its treatment of ostriches. The organization alleged that the farm misled consumers by advertising that its birds were raised with the "highest standards of care and respect." Moira Colley, a PETA spokesperson, confirmed that the farm had removed all claims about its animal care practices. Former employees had reported poor conditions leading to high mortality rates among the birds. Amanda Worman, a former employee who alerted PETA, expressed disappointment over the lawsuit's dismissal, saying: "Those poor birds are going to suffer this winter, and for the rest of their lives." The lawsuit was filed in December in Washington, D.C., and sought to halt misleading marketing practices.
